True for me too. Winter ants didn’t fly, but Camponotus might fly Thursday, where I live, and guess what!!

I feel like Prenolepis is done flying now the last major flight they had was way back in January in San Jose. Camponotus on the other hand should be flying very soon if it does reach the 70s.

They aren't done yet. It's probably too cold for Camponotus flights this weekend now that the forecast has dropped, but alates are still in Prenolepis nests and they have not had their big flights yet.

Definitely Prenolepis, some Camponotus might go too, but not sure on those yet.

Not necessarily. I have found queens in the pool in the afternoon. They are usually only catchable at night however.

They're flying again today here in San Carlos. I caught one in the process of mating while walking home but since I had no test tubes I had to carry it by the wings.
