Did anyone catch queen last night?
Tonight is my last chance to find a queen in my area, all the other species flew already.
Plants r cool
-1x Parasitic Formica Sp. Colony
-1x Pogonomymrex Californicus Colony
-1x Camponotus Hyatti Colony
I think Tapinoma sessile flew today. Might have gotten a few of those. HUGE number of Solenopsis molesta queens around my blacklight. Most are probably infertile though, by the looks of it.

Yep, honeypots! They are very rare here, but I know they can be found at Black Diamond Mines reigonal park, and a handful of other places across the bay.Thank you Derpy and YsTheAnt!
Seems like Camponotus may be the way to go for me as they appear to have distinct majors.
Myrmecocystus as in honeypot ant? I didn't think we were arid enough for them here, where can they be found?
Formica (minor polymorphism in all species), Pheidole, Camponotus, and Myrmecocystus to name a few.Any species with majors in the bay area?
Have you found any pheidole dealates?
I'd be interested to catch some of those.

If you have an argentina ant colony can you just add more ants from anywhere and they will accept them?

I caught two queens a while back on my blacklight, and put em together. They now have workers.

I found a Pheidole queen on my blacklight 2 days ago. I'm not sure, but she appears to be infertile.
How do you guys usually fare with S. molesta? I was only able to find one dealate (which happens to be the only fertile one I caught), and I don't really want to mess up :\
