Anyone found any queens yet this year?

This past week I've caught a F. fusca, and 5 Manica hunteri queens.  I also have a seemingly healthy (captured) small F. fusca colony.  Started with about a dozen workers, queen and lots of brood.  I'll be moving them into a mini hearthXL tomorrow, so wanting to get a good head count.  I've seen lots of new silver workers stretching their pretty little legs!

Nice catches! I can never seem to catch the Formica flights around me. What area of Colorado are you in?

Buena Vista.   All five of the M. hunteri queens have egg clusters now, I assumed they would wait until next season.  Now I have to figure out how to deal with them

Maybe wait until they have a few workers and hibernate them a bit later? It would be cool to see pics of them.

I would PM AntsBC, he has kept them before, as well as Miles.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
