Hey guys what should I put down in the foraging area. I don't want to give them mites. Its supposed to be a dessert so I need some tipe of sand. Please help!

If you don't want them digging, get some substrate bags from Hobby Lobby. They've got red orange, beige, and some other colors. You could also get a few small twigs and put them inside. That's what my desert outworlds are.

I've used ordinary playground sand before without a problem.

Go to a chain pet store and they'll probably have some sand meant for reptiles.

Grout or sand-clay mix is the best bottom substrate for a desert setup. I came to the impression that most larger ants do not overly like sand and rather prefer a solid substrate that doesn't slide when they walk on it.
We should respect all forms of consciousness. The body is just a vessel, a mere hull.
