Hello, the name is Brodan

I am rather new to ant keeping, infact I haven't got a nest started yet D:

I would love too start soon thou!

The problem with me is that I like rare animals, which makes me lean towards rarer ants, I do like some common ones, if they look cool, or act differently than more common ants.

Any suggestions on what I can keep would be great!
I have always been suggested thePolyrhachis hexacantha, apparently they like too have the nest above ground? which would be a cool and interesting looking formicarium

Keep in mind that while rare ants certainly are interesting, they are usually very hard to keep. Common species can be just as interesting as the rare ones and are often a lot easier to keep.

Yeah! I've been looking at local ants, like the beautiful Rhytidoponera, the Orectognathis because they look really really cool, or the Amblyopone Australis, problem being I would have to catch these myself, becauase my state doesn't have any sellers I can find.
I can't find much on the Nuptial flights or any other information on the speiciesin my State. Which sucks.
