Location-Manawatu/Wanganui

Queen Length-5mm    Worker Length-2mm

Colour-Dark brown almost black with orange lines of gaster

Also found next to pheidole colony and a monomorium antarcticum colony

I'm not sure if you have Crematogaster Spp. in New Zealand but to my untrained eye it looks like that genus.

 

Also, are those mites or water droplets on the queens gaster?

 

EDIT: Yeah, I wasn't sure if there was.. well the more you know  :P

There is no recorded species of crematogaster in nz and those are droplets of water on her gaster

It's not crematogaster. I'm not familiar with species in your location, although I'm guessing Wasmannia sp.

Looks a bit more like monomorium sp.
