Hello everyone!
Location: Illawarra region, NSW, Australia
Time: Midday, foraging in and around their nest.
Habitat: Dry soil, nest had no obvious funnel or dish entrance.
So a friend of mine discovered these ants, and we have no idea what they are. They have silver bodies, and bright orange/red legs.
The minors are around 8mm in length, and majors are slightly bigger.
Here are the photos:

Wow, what a beautiful species. I don't know too much about Australian ants, but I would consider Camponotus evae zeuxis.

Calomyrmex species, I believe due to their metallic colors
Proverbs 6:6-8 New International Version (NIV)
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
7 It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
8 yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
