So recently, I had gotten some orchids as a gift for the new year, and was just expecting the usual supermarket variety.  That wasn't the case.  The person who had gotten me these plants thought I would be able to properly care for an endangered species, Dendrophylax lindenii, and Meiracyllium trinasutum 'Lotus'.  From what I have seen, my dorm is the opposite of what I need to be able to care for them: high humidity, sunlight, the works.  

 

Is there anyone here who would be able to give me some insight on these species?  I would like to be able to make these things flower successfully.

Thank both of you.  I moved in and am trying to figure out how to keep the humidity up right now.  I am thinking of getting a humidity tray or filling a vase/bowl with enlarged clay pellets and hanging both above them; just something temporary until I can get the supplies I need.
