I was wondering where everyone else hibernated their ants. Personally I have them in an un-insulated room with a small vent to the outside for cooling. This could help newer ant-keepers (Like myself) to figure out a good way to hibernate their future ant colonies. :wink:

I'm here to learn, mostly.

:hi:

I keep mine in the fridge, especially for my camponotus

Proverbs 6:6-8 New International Version (NIV)

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
    consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
    no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
    and gathers its food at harvest.

I'm actually a little nervous because the past few days/nights temps have been in the negative's.

I tossed mine in the fridge with a pitcher of water. Used a thermometer and it stayed at 50oF consistently.

I got an open-box Amazon Warehouse deal on a wine chiller for a really really good price and set it to 46F and keep it in the basement.  Last year I considered keeping them in the basement, but it stayed in the 60s until December, then it finally dropped to the 50s in January.
