Toxodera are unable to be kept in captivity. If you want them, definitely go for H. coronatus, but I doubt you would be able to ship them for a few months. If you are looking for some mantids you can most likely get now, I suggest you look in to getting a ootheca of either the carolina or chinese mantis.

I agree with Martialis. In my opinion, the Carolina Mantis is a great species to keep. Hymenopus is pretty, but can be difficult to care for (they prefer to eat bluebottle flies, and who likes to breed those? certainly not me).

Heirodula sp. are the largest species to be kept in captivity. They also happen to be the easiest species to keep. Even when compared to Carolina and Chinese mantids.
