Most people would say go with what the outside ants are doing, when the outdoor ants wake up then you can wake up yours as well.

Three months minimum, the more the better (as already said, looking at the ants outside is a good idea).
Meditarranian ants are a special case and only need 3-4 months of lesser hibernation (10-15°C), also meditarranian ants don't really "sleep", they are still active but to a much lesser degree (and as such still need to be fed).
