I've had this colony in a chunk of a dead branch for a while in this container (the wood shavings). I let them dig out some more before dumping them out so I can get the whole colony out. I wasn't sure what the typical colony size is for these ants but it does seem like a decent sized colony. It looks to be at least a year old colony for sure. They have lots of larva and pupa and about 30-40 workers or so (too lazy to count).
I'll get better pics once they move into the tube.
