What it states. How do you care for them? How long does it take fir a coliny to mature? How do you find alates? Thanks in advance!

Mind if I butt in?

If I remember correctly, Reticulitermes flavipes should be pretty common in the eastern U.S. They fly on humid days in the spring during the day, rather than the night (normal termite flying time). It takes several months for the first eggs to hatch. I have kept Coptotermes gestroi x formosanus in a test tube setup with a damp slip of cardboard underneath, and ctantkeeper has successfully reared three or four colonies of Reticulitermes in a similar test tube. The cardboard acts as as a food source.

How do you find the termite alates tandem running, though?

You don't I just catch as many alates as possible off the launch site. After you do, put them in a LARGE tupperware together. They will break off their wings and start to tandem run. Keep only a few pairs, and release the rest where you found them.
