 Hey guys,

So, I have species from more desertic areas, where there are rivers oc and it does rain as well but you could catalogue it as dry. I attached some pictures of the place in spring. The main components are sclerophyll bush and sclerophyll forest. The thing is that I would like to create a more humid outworld to serve 2 functions:
1.- So that they don't want to nest in the outworld
2.- So I can put some natural plants with low light requirements.

Is this detrimental to the ants? The nest itself oc is connected by a tube and will be in their conditions.

That would be pretty neat! I think this should work well, as long as you avoid excessive humidity.

mmmm Would dampen substrate and a lid over the Outworld (with holes oc) count as excessive? I was thinking of using coconut fiber as substrate. My key objectives is that they don't want to nest in the Outworld, that I can keep low light requirement plants (which are usually tropical) and that I can keep some detritus eating fauna

Instead of raising the humidity to prevent them from nesting in the outworld (as this *may* cause them to place one of the stages of brood in the outworld for its humidity) you could run a low power air pump for air flow as most ants don't like to nest where it is "windy."
