Hello! Another Californian joining the forum! I live in Chino Hills but go to school in OC, so I'm around there a lot.  I'm new to anting but not new to keeping/collecting insects; I currently keep around 30 species of roach and assorted other insect/arachnid pets.  I know I missed the anting season, but I'm looking forward to all the cool bugs out thanks to the rain! This seems like a nice community from the weeks that I've lurked on here, and I think it'd be fun to join in on anting trips with other local people.  Especially since I spend a lot of time outside looking for bugs anyway.

Current Species:
Camponotus fragilis

Novomessor cockerelli

Pogonomyrmex montanus

Pogonomyrmex rugosus

Manica bradleyi

Welcome!

I am beginning to think there is an anting conspiracy in California.  :D

When you see other weird people in remote locations inspecting dirt clumps and road ruts, don't be alarmed - it is probably other members from this forum!

Anting gets good in So. Cal. hills when things warm up in spring and the ground is still moist.

I wonder if ant keepers from other parts of the country are afraid to join as they think this is a Cali exclusive forum.

And welcome!
