So I’ve recently accrued an interesting for ant keeping, and I’m pretty sure I’ve picked the worst time of the year to get into it, as winter is right around the corner. Are there any species of ants still around in Virginia? And if so, what are their nuptial flight habits? In other words, how would I find them?

Dude, no need to post the same topic again, just bump your last one. Formiculture has one here: http://www.formicult...ngmating-chart/
That is All of the U.S though. There is not a mating chart just for states though because the anting community is still really small. Usually you find out after your first year, and it should repeat year after year.
All my colonies are dead.
Except:
Pogonomyrmex barbatus
Pheidole obscurithorax
Pheidole morens
