Alright, I need help. So I have most of my queens hibernating. This includes my Dorymyrmex bicolor queen. My other queens however, are not hibernating. They are just slowed down. This includes my Camponotus festinatus, Pheidole xerophila (2), and my Crematogaster laeviuscula queens. But before you read ahead (if you haven't already), are colonies supposed to be in "full hibernation" Like look like they are dead? I also caught all of these queens on the same day: September 10, 2017, except my Crematogaster queen, which was caught on July 25, 2017. She was very susceptible to stress and she never had eggs pass the egg stage
Queen Conditions:
I keep my founding colonies in a wine fridge, which is set at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. The low here is around 52-60 degrees Fahrenheit. My Crematogaster queen was put into hibernation later on than my other queens, but she is slowed down. One of my Pheidole xerophila queens is in "full hibernation" looks frozen/dead. I really hope that she is not dead, because she didn't seem like she was doing so well before I put her into hibernation. My other Pheidole queen is still moving around, but slowly. My Camponotus queen took off her wings in the wine fridge, but she barely slowed down. She is still active whenever I open the wine fridge to make sure my colonies are doing ok. And lastly, my Dorymyrmex bicolor queen is in "full hibernation" where she looks like she is dead. She's hanging on the cotton, and her legs are sorta curled up, so I don't think she is dead.
That's all, and Thank You in advance!
