Thank you, I do not have any colonies ATM, I have contacted the GAN so I am working on that, I do have few thousand workers(unknown if a queen is there) from redoing my backyard we dug into a big nest and it had to go. I didn't want them to get tossed so I put the scoop in a 5gal bucket rimmed with EV olive oil and have been feeding them for a few days, they are doing well as I can tell, they have taken up in a brick I have carved holes into and are clearing out their dead. They haven't touched any proteins just sugars and water. I think I will just keep them as is for time being and just study them for a bit. Not sure what they are, I just figured regular "odorous house ants" they stink if squished. they are about 2-3mm some about 5mm and dark brown/black color
