All we have right now is an accusation, an anonymous accuser, and the individual being accused. That's not sufficient evidence to make a sound judgment.

Someone should report this guy to a federal institution. He's been doing that for years and clearly won't stop until the government smacks down on him, in fact it'll only get worse. He is one of the worst repeated offenders in the entire antkeeping community and taking him out would be a vast benefit for everyone.

Can you please stop sensationalizing everything? It's annoying.

Seeing as I have been here so long, I figured my word would mean something .  Well, I know some others who knew alabama anters real name. I can have them confirm it it? I sure don't care that much though. I stated what I know, and if people choose not to believe me then that is fine also.  It is the internet after all.

Wow, Alabama Anter! I thought he was a nice guy at first!

So should I report that guy who wanted to buy my Hawaiian colonies? I have a screenshot from my account mail logs.

This guy claims that he sold 30+ queens to people nationwide. Also he's from new jersey (I don't think he has commented in the New England Anting Threads, though)

Simply put, there was a message here about Kevin requesting to buy my old Hawaiian ant colonies.

I have seen several claims of Pheidologeton and Pheidole being reported in Hamilton as well as someone in Guelph who (reportedly with a permit) has Acromyrmex colonies

Here's my moral question, and it's just a hypothetical, so I don't want to start an entirely new thread on yet another morality issue...  but allow me to muddy the waters here a tad...

Would it be morally wrong to take over ownership of a non-native species from someone who had them shipped in illegally, but now wants to get rid of them?

Yeah, that would make you an illegal beagel now too.

Should I report Kevin or not? I mean, there's no way of knowing that he wanted to illegally buy ants for sure.

You complain about reacker doing this, and once pointed out it wasn't even edited. But here you are doing the same thing. Way to contradict yourself.

Holy... wow. Guys, Joseph Kim? That was Alabama anters real name! No need to say anymore. This is self explanatory.

Your illegal ant trader is Alabama anter. Why I am I not surprised? :/

Was totally thinking the same thing, wasn't gonna say nothing though....

It is an analogy of how most people here don't give a crap. When I draw attention to the fact that the AntsCanada GAN project was selling highly invasive Solenopsis invicta fire ants most people reacted somewhere along the lines "you don't live here, why do you care, it's not your problem, we live here and don't give a crap either, so just go away".
Mind you Joseph still has access to this forum despite being caught illegally selling ants multiple times (we even have chat protocols of him trying to sell fire ants and other species from Europe and South America, that's one of the reasons he got banned from Discord). Yes, he didn't log in here for months but only because after ravaging freely here for years he has evolved to the next level and now spreads his invasive ants through channels that are even less moderated than this forum. Well done, you clearly showed him he has nothing to fear because nobody gives a crap anyway.

You kind of went a little off topic here. But anyways, are you trying to tell me that because others do it, you now are just going to do it? Not that it matters, I don't care eitherway. Certainly isn't harming anyone. Maybe a little annoying but no harm done. As for you saying, "When I draw attention to the fact that the AntsCanada GAN project was selling highly invasive Solenopsis invicta fire ants most people reacted somewhere along the lines "you don't live here, why do you care, it's not your problem, we live here and don't give a crap either, so just go away". I'm pretty sure no one said that. In fact I liked your first post about it for bringing it to the communities attention. It was however asked why you where so interested in ants in another country, after you where talking about reporting GAN to U.S. authorities and all that. Take note, I also don't care if GAN was destroyed and removed from existence. I don't like it anyway.

Now to alabama anter and to show how wrong you are about the whole case. First of all, he wasn't even active on here for a full year. He was extremely annoying and would post about 30 times a day completely filling up the latest topics area with his posts. Which is how he got so many posts. I or others didn't just dislike him for the illegal trade, but all he did is a story for another time. Although I am pretty sure you would know, seeing as he was on discord with you guys for quite a while until Jash banned him. I joined after Jash invited me, and didn't come back on for months after until I got drift that alabama anter was banned from there because I couldn't take anymore of him. Despite what you might think, he actually didn't get involved in much illegal ant trade on here. The one or two cases he was caught illegally trading on here he was warned for and was close to a banning for it. But he actually did alot of his illegal trade on discord. The old that was ran by (solo?) That was nothing but a giant illegal ant trading center. He would however come on formiculture with pictures, journals, and even tell us of his exotic species he had imported and bought from people out of state. The rules here are on on the matter are as follows. "Because of this, making any arrangements to illegally ship or transport ants is strictly forbidden on Formiculture.com." He stopped using formiculture for illegal ant sales, and started using discord and facebook groups.  Plenty of people cared and is part of the reason he isn't active on here anymore. It came to the point nobody liked him. He couldn't come into the chat here for two minutes before he was banned for whatever. Illegal sales talk, being annoying, etc. Alabama anter certainly wasn't just getting having free run of the place, in fact people who didn't know him said they felt bad for him.
