I finally found a Ringneck Snake!
She was chilling under a rock in my front yard (I was searching for Lasius queens). When I picked her up, she "musked" me with a smell reminiscent of human feces (thus the temporary name "Stinker"). I'm planning on buying her a terrarium, but for now she's going to have to stay in a tupperware setup. Due to a lack of tupperware, she's actually living with my pet cricket. I hope that they'll get along for the time being. If they do, I might move the cricket into the snake's terrarium as well.

My Spring Peeper, Peeps, was caught several weeks ago. He's doing surprisingly well for a wild caught frog (he's been feasting on crickets and extra Lasius queens). I briefly considered letting Stinker live with him, but then I realized that Ringneck Snakes eat frogs as a main food source. I really dodged a bullet there xD

I'll update when I get the terrarium!

Wait you have a pet cricket? I used to love crickets but now I hate them because they kill themselves a lot.
And how are you gonna feed the snake?

Your frog would probably have been safe, however better safe than sorry. They have a fairly varied diet, including crickets.

I'm going to feed the Ringneck earthworms and small amphibians. I'm probably going to try to stick to the amphibian diet if possible.

My cricket is a female unidentified species similar to a house cricket. She was obviously attacked by a bird/salamander/frog/ant, because she was found without hind legs and with a twisted and broken ovipositor. She's been eating little bits of apple. My other cricket, which is a female field cricket, is in the terrarium with my Spring Peeper

Wait, he would have been safe? That makes things a bit different. I'm still going to keep them separate, because of terrarium size, lighting, and other things.

Would depend on the size of the frog.

Bad news... My parents made me get rid of the snake. At least I still have Peeps.

Ya, I wouldn't think that snakes usually role well with parents.

Peeps lived with me for a good few weeks before I released him. I thought that he might do better outside (hibernation wise). I might bump into him again next year when he heads to the lake at the bottom of the hill ;)

If you are posting, you have access to the internet. Google "ringneck snake". It is a small colubrid with an interesting defensive mechanism.

Lol!
I assumed that he searched that up because of his question post (what is a redneck snake). It seems like a good meme.
