1. Tuscon, Arizona

2. May

3. Inside suburb house on carpet

4. Will get measurements later. (Really Big)

5. Brownish-yellow with striped gaster alternating between black and orange-white

6. Yellow, Big

7. Pause a lot and wave antenna when tube is moved.

8. None

9. May

P.S. Yes I know its from Arizona. This was the first queen I ever caught and it was when I didn't know the rules of keeping ants. I will be traveling back to the same house where I caught it this December, and I will release it in the backyard of that house. I'm not intentionally keeping ants that are not from California.

Camponotous sp. And no worries, just now that you know it's illegal don't let it happen again. :) problem solved. Also, don't release it in CA or even back in Arizona.

Your options are...
Kill it, give it to someone in arizona, or (some will disagree) or just keep it and be sure it doesn't get out.

I wouldn't say Camponotus sp. as the queens of the sp are black and my queen is an orange color.

Closest match I've found, but wouldn't say my queen is this type because her workers are yellow, but it looks similar.
