Found this winged queen outside on the side of my house around 6 PM. I don't have exact measurements but she is about the same size as my C. pennsylvanicus queen. I suspect she is the same species but I'm not completely sure. Because she still has her wings, does that mean she hasn't mated yet?

Sometimes when females and males don't fly during nuptial flights they are kicked out of the nest because they are a waste of food.

Looks to me like a Camponotus Pennsylvanicus eject. Sometimes makes and females get kicked out of the nest when they don't fly during nuptial flights because they waste the colonies resources. Best to let her go and live the rest of her life...
