I don't know what species this is, but are those male alates in the bottom of the jar, DEAD?
EDIT: If so, I don't think its an argentine as they (usually) bud to spread colonies.

I suggest Lasius alienus
Proverbs 6:6-8 New International Version (NIV)
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
7 It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
8 yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

The dead ants were some workers that got into the container but died in some water droplets.

I don't think it's an Argentine ant either. The side photo isn't very good but I've seen dozens of queens in my house. Argentine ants have this weird abdomen shape that's like flat at the top and tilts slightly upwards.
Keeping: Camponotus sansabeanus - C. vicinus - Formica francoeuri - Liometopum occidentale - Pogonomyrmex californicus - P. rugosus - P. subnitidus - Solenopsis molesta - S. xyloni - Tapinoma sessile - Temnothorax sp.
Journals: Camponotus sansabeanus & C. vicinus | Pogonomyrmex californicus & P. rugosus | Solenopsis molesta & S. xyloni
Discontinued: Pogonomyrmex subnitidus
