You could try letting the honey dry out a bit until it has more of a leathery surface and they can't get stuck.  Such a neat genus.

This colony is gone.


All my colonies are dead. 

 

 Except:

  

  Pogonomyrmex barbatus

  Pheidole obscurithorax

  Pheidole morens

It's okay, you can catch another pheidole queen this year. My pheidole colony got killed by argentine Ants a month ago.

-1x Parasitic Formica Sp. Colony

-1x Pogonomymrex Californicus Colony

-1x Camponotus Hyatti Colony
