So are they inbreeding or did you bring in wild stock as well?

Amazing! What species do you think these are? Incisitermes sp?

Also, can I ask what state you are in? I would be very interested in getting a pair from you...  :)

I came here to say:

...though past me has already done that apparently :) I hope your colony is doing well

Hopefully you're still around :).

3 alates flew into my room somehow when I was working from home,2 survived. 1 appears to be a queen not sure if the other one is a king(hoping) yet, can't get a clear view.  One already shed it's wings , but the second does not look so goood, it got stuck on some water and probably wasted alot of energy trying to get out.

1. How did the pair found a colony? Bone dry environment with dowels and nothing else? Did they make make their own hole in the dowel?

2. What type of wood is the dowel. I have a piece but home depot didn't label what type of wood, does appear hard. I'll probably look for softer wood like the yellow pine.
