A sad end to this journal. It's a little late to write about it now since it happened almost a year ago when I got back from a three week vacation to Indonesia. The nest had dried out and the colony dehydrated.

It's my fault as I did not provide an alternative water source. The Aeacus nest has a large water tank, but I ignored the summer temperatures here in Mediterranean basin and it evaporated completely.

I will definitely have another Lassius colony at some point, subject to catching a Lassius queen :D

The original queen was ordered from AntKit, but I feel more connected to queens I caught myself.
