So what do you say to making a nest out of unsanded grout with a water tower and to using baby powder as a barrier?

Thank you for your post. Could you point me in right direction to proven barriers so I can add them to Wiki? Also, each ant species has it's favorite nest structure, maybe can list the ones you guys know and I'll do the heavy work by add it all to the wiki for those species?Oh, and any materials one should NOT use no matter the ant species would also be extremely helpful.

Nothing to the extent of my knowledge. I was asking because I was unsure. I hear that it has a hard time absorbing water by itself but that's why I mentioned "with a water tower" since that would be the way I would make the nest humid.

It's like going to a library, you take out a book to bring home, you get to the exciting part....only to notice someone tore out a page :D .

Sorry the more I thought about it, it seemed judgemental on my behalf. While I truly do feel our hobby needs the kick in a better more guided direction, in the end it just a hobby and it should be fun.
