I was at Daiso today (a Japanese dollar store, $1.50 store actually that's been popping up around Socal) and found this:
,
It's a multipurpose storage container, similar to Crystal's bead container that measures roughly 4" wide. They also had a shallower version. I envision it as a good test tube replacement or substitution for the THA Talus/Growth Chamber. The partitions are adjustable along the ridges. How would you design a formicarium out of this?
The easiest method would probably be to drill a few holes in one of the partitions and use it to hold a sponge or other humidifier. A passageway can be drilled in the other partition to lead to a small foraging area. I'm thinking I'd like to get fancy and make some sort of ceiling in the nest area so the queen feels more secure. How would you go about this? Or what would you do with this type of container?
