I will be staying in Corpus Christi for almost a month from now, and would happily take requests from Texas residents within a certain radius (yet to be discerned, perhaps by species or any other reasonable way) of me. Just post here or message me if anyone is interested in me looking for any species in Texas.

Shipping is not guaranteed, but will be considered based on the request.

Queens that I am fairly sure to be able to acquire for sale: Pseudomyrmex gracilis (2 queens recently aquired, 1 deceased), Odontomachus clarus (1 queen recently aquired), Neoponera villosa (1 queen recently aquired), Pseudomyrmex pallidus (Everywhere on a specific property I have access to), Camponotus planatus (Two queens recently aquired)

I have never caught any queens in Corpus Christi. You must have the ant keeping touch. However, I have caught redfish, black drum, and specs in Corpus. Hope you have time to do some fishing

I have done quite a bit of fishing so far! That is, when I actually have the time off from my work here. Haven't caught anything big yet, but still big enough to fry. Hoping for a shark! Never tasted one before.

Also.. Thank you! I try in my spare time to indulge in my interests in this hobby. I love to see all of the amazing diversity and abilities in different species.

Update:

Neoponera villosa, Pseudomyrmex gracilis, Odontomachus clarus, and Camponotus planatus queens SOLD and no longer readily available (except by request).

Large & medium-sized Pseudomyrmex gracilis colonies aquired and available (have been kept for nearly two weeks now and have remained stable).



I will only collect mature colonies in areas that are soon to be leveled and built upon. So colony requests, rather than queen requests, are not guaranteed.

How far are they allowed to be transferred? I live in the Austin area.

That would likely be fine depending on the species. I look at each individual case to determine shipping, as to avoid blanket rules. Which would you be interested in? I can look for unlisted species as well if you have a request.

Hahahahaha! I am always grateful to have access to land expanses untouched by them so far.. Tons of private property tends to make my short stays here quite enticing. Though my search is always impeded by this pesky thing called work. I have to find a way to get rid of it! I finally have a day off tomorrow and can see what I find.

Should have jumped on the Odontomachus when I had a chance. My two "new" queens appear to be infertile.

I found some queens yesterday, but 2 of the species I have yet to get a specific ID for: A large Camponotus sp. (2 queens) which are freshly mated so I may not sell it since I cannot secure it's fertility. I may include it for free with the purchase of another queen though.
& a Crematogaster sp. (1 queen) with eggs and larvae.

Others found include a C. planatus queen with larvae + eggs, and a P. gracilis queen with two pupae (one very near maturity) + larvae + eggs.

I can keep a look out for another Odontomachus queen. I was almost inclined to keep the last one here until my return (instead of selling it) since it is a very nice looking species.. Hahaha

I'm still looking, but if I end up not finding one before I leave I can look once I am back. Work has me back and forth. It may be a small starting colony rather than a queen at that point though, and I also can't guarantee that I will collect a starting colony even if I find one. Only in areas that are soon to be disturbed/constructed on will I collect already started colonies (up to a certain size of my discernment).

Great method! That's the way to go! I was just in corpus and got a few reds and specs. Enjoy your time there and I hope you don't work too much

I actually am leaving Texas tomorrow for a couple months, and haven't yet figured out how to 'close' or 'discontinue' this topic until I return. They are going to be cared for until I get back, so I can message you then.
I have 3 P. gracilis colonies available:
-Queen with 1 worker, 2 pupae, 8 larvae in differing stages, & many eggs. (Raised from a single caught queen after flight)
-Colony of approximately 16 workers and a lot of brood. (removed from a construction site)
-Colony of over 50 workers in a small handmade hollowed mesquite branch, and therefore not possible to count brood, but they are thriving greatly... (removed from a construction site)

1 C. planatus queen with a pupae, 4 larvae in differing stages, and many eggs.

2 large unidentified camponotus sp. queens with plenty of eggs (not enough time between capture and now to have brood).

1 unidentified Crematogaster queen with plenty of eggs.


All of this will be available much later at my return, if they are still alive of course.
