I caught this colony around a week and a half ago and just now got around to making a journal. You can see from the pics that it is a small colony with a nice pile of pupae. The queen for some reason only has 5 legs but she appears healthy other than that. I don't know what species this is but it looks like C. pennsilvanicus(I think I just butchered that word) except it has a reddish thorax Just searched the web a little and I'm pretty sure is is C.chromaiodes!

I decided I could not keep more than three colonies at a time, so I had to release 2 of mine  :(

It was just becoming to much, I wish I wasn't so over eager when it came to catching colonies since this is my first year. I'll leave the huge ant collection for next year when I know more and have more supplies.
