I moved my new colony of Tetramorium ants to a formicarium I've built. I have a blocked tube attached to it and they are housing themselves in that thing. They are not going in the formicarium. It is a horizontal formicarium with sand inside. The sand does not fill to the top, only half way. Please help! Can someone tell me what I should do to make them move back into the formicarium and out of the tube. I've tried shaking and putting light on the tube, but they don't give. What should I do????

Make it dry.  Make it hot.  If that doesn't work, just take the tube out and dump them into the formicarium.

How long have you given them to move? Hours or days?

Give them time.

How big is the colony? If they're still relatively small, they may like the tight confines of the tube more than the formicarium. It may also hold heat and moisture better.

What do you mean by "horizontal formicarium with sand inside?" If it's just a container full of sand, it probably won't work since it isn't the most stable material for digging in. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think tetras live in deserts.

that seems legit because there are only eight fanatics-2 drowned when the former test tube flooded...
