On July 27th 2017 I caught 3 solenopsis molesta queens in some wood chippings on a play ground, there aren't many journals/ videos on these ants so I've decided to make one and will document their growth for quite some time.

July 31st 201 All 3 queens seem to be fertile and there are some small batches of eggs.

Very nice! i have a 6 queen colony that i caught in my backyard.

 

Just cause they are laying eggs doesnt always mean they are fertile. I still wish you the best of luck

How are the queens doing? I caught 3 of them a few weeks ago and they have alot of eggs I have them in a group of 2 and and then the one. Do you know if they hibernate?

The queens are doing very well, they have a very large brood pile and maybe a few eclosing workers. I think I see eyes but I'm not sure.

Also I see a bit of what seems to be mold on the wet cotton bit of the setup .

I also have S. molesta I've caught. Only one survived, but her eggs are growing so she's fertile. Maybe its just the camera, but I want to point out that to me, those don't look like S. molesta. S. molesta are extremely tiny and yellow.
