Hi there,
I've been trying to get ahold of a T. Sessile queen for years but have had no luck. Does anyone have one or have any advice on how to catch a Queen of this species?
Thanks

This is the right season to be looking for them. They are pretty tiny (4-5mm) so you you have to be vigilant. They live in many habitats.

If you've enjoyed using my expertise and identifications, please do not create undue ecological risk by releasing your ants. The environment which we keep our pet insects is alien and oftentimes unsanitary, so ensure that wild populations stay safe by giving your ants the best care you can manage for the rest of their lives, as we must do with any other pet.
Exotic ants are for those who think that vibrant diversity is something you need to pay money to see. It is illegal to transport live ants across state lines.

I actually have 5 queens of these I caught - 1 tube of 1 queen and 1 of four queens. I would be willing to sell some if you're interested. I also think Ameise may have some queens, not sure if he's selling or not though and he's in Chicago - I'm over in Rockford.
I basically found these queens in a playground and there were wingless queens running around all over the place.
