I want to build a drewcarium, but I don't know what sand/dirt to use. Can you tell me what sand you use, especially the white kind?

What time of day do these fly?
I'm not sure, but I think it's early in the morning.

These don't fly until late spring. Nothing is going to be flying now.

Update 6-10-2018
These colonies are all doing well. The two largest both have about 300 workers now and tons of brood. I just had to move what was the second largest out of the small Dirt Box and into a large one. I decided to just let this colony move on its own.
Here it is when I first connected the two Dirt Boxes together. You can see they have clearly outgrown the small one.
This is just a few days later. They love to dig.
This is the smallest of the three colonies, at about 120 workers. I think I'm going to sell this one because of how successful my other two are; I have no need for 3 colonies of the same species this size.

Update 12-5-2018
I sold the smallest colony, and for the last six months, the other two have been living in large Dirt Boxes. Both of these colonies have close to 500 workers now, and have almost removed all the dirt in their formicariums. I moved one of them into two large prototype starter formicariums hooked together. The other I have not moved yet, but need to move into something larger and without dirt.

Are you selling the dirt boxes? If so, how could I buy them?

They are good, but mold issues are not common, with hydration and heat. It also lets the seeds that these need, grow.

Update 6-13-2019
This colony is doing great. I now have it in one of my large Starter formicariums. I counted roughly 700 workers.
