I found this big worker in a park near home. Is it a Dinoponera sp. ?
1. Location of collection: I collected the ant in a park at CG/MS - Brazil
2. Date of collection: 15/06/17
3. Habitat of collection: This is something like a oak forest (i have some pics below), but is a very little park, so its not a forest.
4. Length: 20mm
5. Coloration, hue, pattern and texture: Browish green head; Segmented gaster; Translucent parts on gaster; Almost bald unless for some little hairs on gaster; When lighted reflects a dark green coloration for some parts from the head, thorax and abdomen.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: One petiole node.
7. Anything else distinctive: Aparently the colony is very small, but i don't know if this is a fact linked with the age or normal size of the species.
8. Nest description: It is in a tree, the entrances are blocked by wooden shells.
