[Ants_Texas]

I've had no luck finding anything but Solenopsis in Katy (my local area), and am willing to travel to find queens of camponotus species (since they're flying right now). Anybody know any good towns, parks, fields, or areas to find anything but Solenopsis? I would really appreciate a response, thanks.

I never found anything in your area other than S. Invicta and Atta Texana. Unfortunately​ Atta already flew last month. Your best chance for camponotus is to blacklight in a clearing deep in the woods.

I like Pogonomyrmex the best and I've found had good luck at parks near to me in D/FW.

I second this question!  I'm close to Katy (Houston) - I'm a bit south in Pearland.  All I ever see is fire ants.  I read about raspberry crazy ants exploding, and were actually found by an exterminator with the last name Rasberry first in Pearland!  But I don't ever see them so far as I can tell.  Or the Argentine ant that is also supposed to be invasive.  I don't even know what to look for - do they have nice, neat ant hills like fire ants do?  Thanks for any help!
