Hey everyone,
I have a very young black c. Vicinus colony and a drone hatched today! The colony literally has 4 workers.
I'll try to take a better picture tomorrow when it's brighter.

Maybe a dud [unfertilized] egg that was allowed to devolop? That seems about the only thing I can think of.
