The Athabasca Science Outreach is presenting via Adobe Connect a presentation called Unwanted Guests.

Abstract:
Most insects are benign (e.g. most butterflies) or beneficial (e.g. honey bees) but a few are nuisances or harmful to us. This illustrated talk will describe the identifying features of these three groups of parasitic insects, their life cycles, the problems they cause for humans, how to prevent their occurrence in your home and during your travels, and, if you or your home gets infected, an overview of how to kill them. After attending this talk, you should have a better idea of the capabilities and limitations of these insects and, by taking the recommended precautions, lessen any worries about your children sleeping over at their friends' homes or you staying in hotels - whether locally or in more exotic locations.

Presented by Robert Holmberg, an Emeritus Professor of Athabasca University. As a biologist, his expertise is mainly with arachnids, but he has also worked with various insects: mosquitoes, grasshoppers and horse flies.
