Curved tweezers have been amazingly useful in getting garbage out of the nest.
Workers are no longer getting lost in outworld. Yes..., some of them were getting lost. I have yet to water the nest yet and no more dried up larvae. AntsCanada nest definitely had moisture retaining problem. The side glass also reflects UV light, so no worries on that front as well, not that the colony receives direct sunlight.
The video is nothing special. it focuses on their brood field. I specifically asked THA to make the entrance tunnel to have 45 degree slope so that ants may take garbage out that way. You can see the entrance on top left portion of the video where ants come and go.
They've been very active. Tonight, I saw 6 workers out in outworld even.
No ants is trying to dig into the gap now. They've also customized the chamber a bit with loose substrates.
