Lasius umbratus
I agree with Lasius umbratus. Interesting how elongated it looks though.
This is a Dolichoderinae, likely a Dorymyrmex in the insanus complex.
Had a feeling.
Thanks for the replies. Is there anything particularly wonderful (or not) about Dorymyrmex in captivity? I need to decide if I want to keep her, or let her go. I assume that the workers will be fairly tiny?

I would keep her. I've always loved ants in the Dolichoderinae subfamily, they just seem to be so cooperative.
