You could also use this:
http://www.maplecraf...pack-of-12.html
Haven’t used them myself, but I have seen some posts were people have had success with these. I believe Dspdrew also uses these.

-1x Parasitic Formica Sp. Colony

-1x Pogonomymrex Californicus Colony

-1x Camponotus Hyatti Colony

Ever try ordering the clear ones? They've been out of stock for years.

I tried looking for some pencil holder cases @ daiso, no luck. however, i just ordered some petri dishes, and will use them for a couple of my Pogonomyrmex colonies. ill add a thin layer of grout on the bottom, and add a water tower or a little water box with cotton in it. 90mm x 15mm 10 petri dishes for (2+3 for shipping) 5 bucks!

There's a Daiso within walking distance from where I live. I walk in and stock up whenever they have them in stock. They usually have them about 22 at a time. It is $1.68 each online, and $1.50 each in the store. No shipping costs, just tax.

What type of tape do you use to attach the screen. I tried to make my own and used hot glue to attach the screen but it wouldn’t stick:(

-1x Parasitic Formica Sp. Colony

-1x Pogonomymrex Californicus Colony

-1x Camponotus Hyatti Colony

Believe it is gaffer tape?

Tape is preferred because it makes removing the mesh easier to transfer and "dump" a colony through the hole after cleaning the formicarium.

Ok thanks! You are always so helpful!

You're welcome. Just made a few more of these, but this time with larger containers with dual and quad test tubes. Decide to drill the hole on the side instead of the top lid so they could be stacked. Used food coloring to stain the hydrostone.

Needed to house the growing N. cockerelli colonies.
