By the description I assume F. cinerea, F cunicularia or F. rufibarbis but I need to see a picture.

1. Location of collection: Bitola, Macedonia

2. Date of collection: 21.05.2017

3. Habitat of collection: Urban area

4. Length: 11mm

5. Coloration, hue, pattern and texture: Dark gray gaster, head and thorax with darker stripes between segments on gaster. Black eyes. Orange limbs and antennae. The antennae have black tips. Shiny metallic texture, bald.

6. Distinguishing characteristics: One petiole, no spines or bumps, two segments on each antenna (it is very possible that the segments on the antenna are to small for me to see) 
7. Anything else distinctive: /
8. Nest description: volcano-shaped mound of very fine, dry dirt, 5cm in radius

It's a species group, a group of certain species within a genus that are closely related.

It's a species group, a group of certain species within a genus that are closely related.

 

 

Thanks. I got confused because my queens legs look nothing like a formica fusca queens legs
