[Ants4fun]

Well, I was enjoying my well needed rest from ant keeping, when I glanced at a small old porch-step section at the back of our house. I look and see carpenter ants walking around.

"Oh, cool!" I think to myself, "I have never seen carpenter ants here before. These must have been the ones I released. Camponotus pennaylvanicus and Camponotus Americans were both there. Then I started frowning when I realized where they were living.

Of course, I know carpenter ants, and all ants for them matter, need moisture to survive. And since the old porch is outside, and the cedar wood is in bad condition, it would be a likely target, although I didn't think about it a year ago when I released them. I probably shouldn't have released them period.

Now I am thinking that I could get the colonies and extract them, but I would have to take the porch apart. I am most worried about the C. Pennsylvanicus because it looks like they are sandwiched between the porch and the house, and I don't want them to spread. What would be your guys best method for extraction? BTW my family is probably going to kill me.

And if it was, then the last thing I'd worry about is the ants lol.

This is the only reason I don't want carpenter ants.   I really, really want them otherwise!!  If I let them go, I would probably let them go in a forest or very large park lol
