Is Camponotus Pennsylvanicus larvae suppose to turn blackish grayish in color? https://m.imgur.com/z9wfXHZ

If those are pupae then they're just very close to exposing. If those are larvae then they're dead

Pupae shrivel up and become darker soon before eclosing into workers.
