Looking for Queens

Last week, the queen ants in my area had their nuptial flights. Everyday I kept looking and the best I could find was a couple of unfertilized queens. I know there are ants in my area but I just can't find fertile queens. Do you guys have any tips or tricks to find queens?

You definitely want to do a quick search on this forum. There are an overwhelming amount of topics about catching queen ants on here.

It would also be useful to know your location to get a feel of what is flying, or what might be flying soon.

AntGuy, how do you know they are unfertilized? Are they not laying eggs, or the eggs just don't seem to develop?

You can't be sure a queen is fertile until the first worker.

You can't be sure a queen is fertile until the first worker.

The reasoning behind this is that even if they queen lays eggs, it still may be unfertile, if the queen was infertile the eggs would become mole alates.

All my colonies are dead.
