How old is this colony?
The colony is only six months old.
Wow, looking good. It's difficult to successfully raise a colony of these in captivity. I had a founding colony earlier in the year, but the tube flooded before the queens even got their second worker.
edit: What is formicarium you have them in?

I accidentally froze all my ants

They live in a cheap Chinese acrylic nest that I found on eBay.
That's amazing. Any tips for them? What temp do you keep them at and how often do you check? Also what do you feed these and how often? Never had much success with these but you seem to have .
The temperatures that I keep them at are between 72F - 78F (22C - 25C). I like to check them at least once a week for a few minutes. I have only been feeding them mealworms and honey (new mealworms every two days) but I heard from others that they’re picky eaters.
You have a really beautiful colony there. Great job. These ant seem to be tricky for some people, while others seemingly have no issues I wasn't able to get mine past a year without the colony collapsing. The queen stopped laying all the workers died out and then the queen was just by herself, and then eventually died as well.
Amazing! I always wondered about all those Chinese formicariums on eBay.
I ordered a Chinese ant liquid feeder, and it did not work well.
Should have tried the ByFormica ones, I like them a lot.
