Anyone ever cooked with Himalayan salt? On a ribeye? It's really good. Tastes like salt.

We still haven't found the ideal design for a wooden nest.
Now we're testing a model in which, in addition to the wooden nest, there is a ytong panel which is connected with two test-tubes of autonomic hydration.

As a result of testing, unfortunately, we are forced to abandon the use of the beech massif and apply a cork tree instead.
Ytong panel for humidity is retained as in the previous version.

Nice! I noticed a couple of similar nests on eBay have popped up. I assume they are yours?

As far as I know. desert ants like veromessor andrei pergandei in the beginning need moist nest. once they reach 500 or more. they are more than happy to regulate their own humidity. I only know this about harvesters ants since I have. a colony and did some research still have to try it.

That nest would be nice for Camponotus ants but I don't think they fit the chambers.

We should respect all forms of consciousness. The body is just a vessel, a mere hull.

Nothing personal but I prefer AntsCanada because it is easier to customize your setup and add new nests and outworlds as your colony grows. And many species love to travel and forage for food so connecting multiple nests to multiple outworlds through long tubing is good. I do like the convenience of having the nest and outworld in one and the automatic hydration so if there was a way to connect them through tubing then it would be more appealing to me.

I have never used AC products, they may work but they are way over priced.

The new hybrid nests are alrighty but honestly, everything else they sell is wayyy overpriced. I prefer Tarheelants, but there are a few catches with them, like rinsing out the nest before use to get rid of the chemicals in it and such. I mostly make my own, and so far Camponotus and novomessor seem to like them.

I really like the ytong insert formicarium, very precise, and very fair price, just shipping to US is gonna be so expensive...
