Location:  San Antonio Falls, Mt. Baldy, California.
Habitat:  Pine/Oak forest.
Coloration, hue and pattern:  All black.
Length:  Ranging 8-14 mm.

Most likely Camponotus laevigatus according to Dr. James Trager, while Mrmacophyl leans more towards the black form of C. vicinus.
