Hello all! Been getting interested in ant keeping, and depending on things, I hope to have a colony eventually. Ironic, given how we battle the little guys in our house every spring, lol. They are rather fun to watch though. I always used to like watching the big ant hills we had in our backyard as a kid, too. The fact that I got kind of addicted to watching AntsCanada on YouTube didn't help either (or did it? XD ) I figured they'd be a fun pet to keep alongside the two aquariums, basset hound, and corn snake I already have. Not sure what kind of ants I might end up with though...guess it depends on what I catch. I think I may already have a queen, but I'll post that in the ID forum.

Oh, also, Hikari isn't my real name, but I like it as an online handle (been using it for forever now). Always thought it had a nice ring to it. Means "light" in Japanese (took it in high school as a foreign language so I know a little bit).

I hope to learn a lot from everyone and look forward to interacting with all of you...if I can keep myself from going into forum lurk mode, lol.

Welcome from the south! Although I can speak a little Japanese, my native tongue is Korean.
