1. Location of collection: Philadelphia, PA.
2. Date of collection: May 17, 2017
3. Habitat of collection: Urban environment; several queens collected from side of building & pavement below.
4. Length (from head to gaster): approx 4.5 mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Dark brown with small hints of yellowish hues on underside, resembles smaller Prenolepis imparis queen.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Post-petiole absent
7. Distinguishing behavior: NA
8. Nest description: Seemed to come from holes in asphalt outside of where the flight occurred.
Notes: This is definitley a Nylanderia queen; it was caught in a flight where Nylanderia males and workers were overly present. I have a feeling it's either N. flavipes or N. terricola but I'd like to determine the species. A total of nine queens were caught during this flight; this one didn't make it so we decided to do a little photoshoot with her. I've kept the specimen, so let me know if it'd be helpful to get shots from different angles or different parts of her body.
